Kakum National Park, located in southern central Ghana, spans 145 square miles (375 sq km) and is named after the Kakum River, which originates within the park. It is Ghana’s most visited natural attraction, with 90% of its landscape covered in tropical forest.

- Canopy Walkway: One of only three in Africa, stretching 1,150 feet (350 m) across seven trees, reaching heights of 130 feet (40 m) and up to 160 feet (50 m) at certain canopies.
- Guided Walks: Visitors can explore the rainforest floor with expert guides, as there are no self-guided trails.
- Diverse Ecosystem: The park includes moist evergreen forests, swamp forests, riverine forests, and Boval vegetation.
Wildlife 🐒:
- Home to 266 bird species and Ghana’s largest population of forest elephants.
- Other notable wildlife: buffalo, Colobus monkeys, red river hog, giant forest hog, pangolin, dwarf crocodile, and North African crested porcupine.
- Endangered species: Diana monkey, giant bongo antelope, yellow-backed duiker, and African elephant.

- Carry a small backpack or a waist bag where you may keep your camera or phone on top of the walkway.
- There is a brief hike before reaching the Bridges. Make sure you wear good shoes.

- Remember, this is a rain forest and it can rain at any time, go with your rain coat and your trainer.
